At Funtime we understand that everyone wants to ‘look the part’ and so we have produced the following guidelines to help you.
Please pay particular attention to the footwear required for your child’s class. For all classes children should change into their dance shoes upon arrival as no outdoor shoes are permitted.
Trial lessons - Children attending for the first time should wear something comfortable to move around in. We suggest children wear a soft indoor shoe such as a plimsoll or trainer to change in to for their trial lesson as socks alone are too slippery and outdoor shoes are not permitted. Parent/Carers joining in with their child in our Tots and Parent classes must remove their outdoor shoes and/or bring alternative footwear.
Tots Dance Classes (with parent) - children can wear anything they like providing they can move around easily. We often have princesses and pirates coming along to class!
Footwear – tots can either wear ballet shoes* or a soft indoor shoe (socks or tights alone are too slippery).
Preschool Dance Classes – the same as our Tots Dance classes children can wear anything they like.
Footwear:
Ballet shoes* (girls) – pink satin or leather with elastic attached
Ballet shoes* (boys) – black canvas or leather with elastic attached

Pale pink short skirt

Boys:
White short sleeved tshirt.
Black shorts.
White ankle socks
Ballet shoes* – black canvas or leather with elastic attached
Mini Performers Dance and Drama:
T-shirt (any colour)
Black leggings or cycling shorts (girls) or black joggers (boys)
Footwear: Ballet shoes* (same as preschool dance/ballet) or clean trainers - please change into these for the class as no outdoor shoes are to be worn.
*An important note about ballet shoes.
Ideally these should be purchased and fitted at a dancewear supplier. If purchasing elsewhere eg, from a high street shop or online please check with the teacher in class that they fit correctly. Teachers may ask your child to remove shoes they feel are unsafe to dance in. This includes some ‘dance shoes’ supplied as children’s fancy dress which are not suitable for class.
We have provided details here of dancewear suppliers.
